Negroni Copic Drawing
Hello there everyone. Summer is officially over, but that dosen't mean that I can't draw something that I relate to summer. So this weeks art blog is about one of my favorite adult beverages. I’m talking about the famous cocktail, the Negroni!
It's not exactly a summer drink, but I do enjoy one the most in the summer sun. This year I’ve been working on a lot of glass and crystal themed drawings, because it was a goal of mine to get better at them. When I first came up with the idea of an Negroni drawing, I knew that the grey toned paper would work excellent. The only downside was that most of my deep orange/red markers loses some of their color because of the paper, so i took some time to find the right colors.
I started from the top and worked my way down. So for the orange slice I use Canary yellow, (Y02) and golden yellow. (Y17)
I was actually surprised that i only used to markers for it, but the rest of the details are made with a few colored pencils and a white gelly roll pen. For the liquid I went with cadmium orange (YR07) for my base color. And for the red hint and deeper red I used cadmium red, (R27) and Cardinal.(R59)
I’m trying to keep it simple color wise, so its easy for everyone to follow along if you wish. For the glass Reflection and extra depth I used a white and a yellow pencil, combined with a black pencil and a white gelly roll pen again. I used a withe gelly roll pen for Almost all of my drawing, and I really stands out on toned paper. In the end I also used a red pencil to add a bit more contrast and then this drawing was complete. It’s kinda simple but still detailed enough to be Realistic, and i really like how it turned out. Hope you enjoyed this blog, and I hope you'll tune in for the next project.
