Disco Ball Copic Art
Hi there everyone and welcome to this week’s blog. It has been a few weeks since my last post, but that's because I got married last week. So, I have been very busy with a lot of stuff, but now I’m back and ready to get back to work!
In the spirit of party and celebration, Ive decided to work on a Disco ball for this weeks blog... It's really tricky to get the perspective right on something like this, and it's really the smaller details that are important.
I started out with this loose sketch, where i made sure not to make any thick black lines, but to be as gentle as possible with the pencil. That is because of the Light colors im working with, as they can easily ruin the sketch underneath. After the sketch i picked the colors i was gonna use. I knew that i needed a few Grey ones. I went with cool Grey 1, 3, 5, and 7. I also used Warm grey 3 for some variations here and there. I also picked Frost Blue,(B00) Mimosa Yellow, (YG00) and a Honey marker.(Y38) I knew that it was gonna be quite flat, and boring if I only used Grey tones so this was perfect for the depth and details. I made sure to keep a few areas completely white to create the highlights.
For smaller details in the end I used a 0,03mm fineliner and a white gelly roll pen, to make the smaller highlights, and then this drawing was complete. I actually had a lot of fun while making this, even though it was a bit hard for the hand to make all those small squares I hope you enjoyed the process of this drawing, and I’m looking forward to see you all in the next blog.
