Basic Summer Attire

Hey there! Welcome to this blog post. For this weeks entry, Ive been working on a very simple summer outfit. The heat is here and it can be somewhat difficult to wear nice clothes when the sun i burning all day, but i still try my best, and even though this might be a basic fit, it is still being massively overdressed in todays society. I find it a bit sad, but i do understand that dressing like this is not for everyone... Especially when the heat takes over!

I made very loose sketch for this illustration, and i tried to keep it simple like the drawing itelf. I did'nt even erase my outlines on the clothes before i colored, and i normally do that, but it can also be a cool effect when you can see the sketch underneath the final product, and i went for that vibe here. I used my usual pallete for these drawings on the face, but i tried to use a bit more blush (R20) to create a bit of a sun burned look but as usual i used pale fruit pink, (E000) Pinkisk white, (R00) blush, (R20) Pale grape (V91) and light grape. (V95) For the hair i used buttercup yellow, (Y21) and dull Ivory. (E43) I used a 0.03 fineliner for the tiny hairs and the frame on the sunglasses. For the glass itself i used Cardinal (R59) and cool Grey 7.

For the tie i used ultramarine (B29) and cool Grey 7. Afterwards i used my new 0,5 gelly roll pen and made a little wave/flower pattern on top, and i think it looks a lot like my own favorite Vintage summer tie.

For the shirt i only used Cool Grey 1, 3, and 5. I mentioned how basic it is... Technically white can be very tricky as you're often forced to use other colors like blue and yellow to get the best looking "white." I kept it to cool Greys and i like how you're able to see the sketched lines underneath.

For the suspenders i used dark brown (E47) for the leather straps and i could'nt find any color that matched my suspenders, so i tried a combo of preussian blue (B39) and Cardinal (R59) and i got this blue/red brown color, that looks alot like what i was going for. That is one of my favorite thing with copic markers. The fact that you can mix your own colors when you need to is something many people forget! For the tiny pattern on the suspenders i simple used a white pencil.

For the trousers i used cool Grey 5 and 7. For the pleats i used my black pencil and then a white pencil for details. This drawing is really a proof that you don't need much more that some cool Grey markeds to make something very nice and interesting. I hope you all enjoyed this post and i will hopefully be back with another drawing soon.
