Christmas Snow Globe
Hello there and welcome to this art blog. Christmas is just around the corner, and therefore Im obviously gonna draw something in that theme! I struggled s bit to come up with a design I liked, but I decided to keep it quite simple with a snowball.
I used my toned tan paper, because it's been a while since i used it, and it seems like the right choice for this drawing. I made a very loose sketch, but later on i went over a few things like the tree and presents with a fineliner to make them 'pop' a bit more. I wanted something very simple with the colors, and i mainly used warm and cool Greys for the ball/glass and tree. I relied on my white gelly roll pen, and white pencil to detail the snowy effects inside of the ball. For the gifts I used a strong red (R46) and forest green. (G17)
For the buttom I used a honey marker (Y38) for the gold trim, and I used sepia (E37) and a dark bark (E49) for the wood part... And of course a white pencil for the wood grain. The lowest bit is made with cool Grey 3, 5, and 7.
Near the end I went over some areas with a black pencil to darken a few things to really make the highlights in the dome stand out. And I also went and used a light blue, and pink pencil on the sky inside the dome, just to add a subtle detail to the sky and make it a bit more whimsical.
This was my last drawing of 2025, and Im very happy with some of the work Ive made this year, and I cant wait to see what 2026 brings. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
